Renovation of the Conservation and Restoration Laboratory

The project “Caring for Movable Cultural Heritage Objects – Equipping a Conservation and Restoration Laboratory,” funded by the Ministry of Culture, has successfully been completed.
The Conservation and Restoration Laboratory is among the museum’s key priorities. The project is aimed at improving the material and technical infrastructure: with the awarded funding, the museum has fully renewed outdated equipment and the working environment. A total of BGN 42 370 was invested in the acquisition of specialized equipment, photographic and computer equipment, as well as purpose-built furnishings.
Each year, the museum’s Conservation and Restoration Laboratory restores approximately 2,000 movable cultural heritage objects, representing the rich archaeological heritage of Plovdiv and the region of Plovdiv.
