A tomb from early Christian period - IV century AD

On 5-th October 2015 a restored tomb from early Christian period (IV century AD) was officially presented in Regional Archaeological Museum– Plovdiv. It was discovered in 2012 in the center ofPlovdiv.

The press conference was attended by Mayor and Deputy Mayor of  Plovdiv- eng. Ivan Totev and Petar Stoyanov, member of the board of EVN Bulgaria -Simo Simov, Assoc. Prof. Kostadin Kisyov - director of the museum, Maya Martinova Kyutova – archaeologist of excavations and Nikola Stoyanov -restorer.

Gratitude to Municipality of Plovdiv and EVN Bulgaria which gave Regional Archaeological Museum – Plovdiv support to restore this unique early Christian tomb with mural-paintings which depict the miracles of Christ.

The Archaeological Museum Plovdiv for the first time participated in the Night of museums and galleries with a lecture and discussion with foreign scientists, an exhibition of rare and valuable books and film screenings about archaeological excavations.
